We had an underfloor leak that the local plumbers weren’t able to detect and repair so we called ADI. Scott and Robert were very professional and detected the leak and set about to repair it. Thankfully they completed it leaving the area around the pipework as neat as they could. I was impressed with the cleanliness of it all considering we had concrete floors and ceramic tiles. I hope I don’t need to use them again but if I did need to, I’d use them again without hesitation.

Scott arrived before the time…
Scott arrived before the time specified, and as this wasn’t an issue started straight away to investigate the leak in our central heating system. After an initial scan he drained the system and used gas fed through the pipes to locate the leak. On locating the leak he took photos for our insurance report and isolated the leaky pipe to make repair. System then turned on and pressure held as expected. Thanks to Scott for carrying out the work quickly and effectively

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I couldn’t be happier with the service I received from Scott at ADI Leak Detection today. Scott arrived on time and was extremely professional from start to finish. He quickly found and fixed the leak, clearly explained what the issue was, and took the time to answer all of my questions in a really helpful and friendly way. His work was carried out very neatly and with great care — he left everything clean and tidy, which I really appreciated. It’s rare to find someone who is not only highly skilled, but also so courteous and respectful of your home. I would absolutely recommend Scott and ADI Leak Detection to anyone needing leak detection or repairs. Outstanding service all round!

Scott was amazing and fast at detecting where our leak was and then coming back to fix said leak (that was in a very annoyingly awkward place) I couldn’t recommend him enough. Will definitely be using for anything in the future :)

Great job done!
The plumber/expert (Scott) turned up exactly when I was told he would arrive. Very polite and professional about his work. Fully explained everything and clearly showed care and consideration throughout the work he carried out. Many thanks Scott for taking such good care and time and trouble over everything. The job was completed and am a completely satisfied customer. Thanks Scott!

Mark and Scott - recommended ADI engineers
We used this company based on previous reviews. Mark and Scott attended our premises in Collingtree and identified an underground water leak by using gas tracer and sound detector. Part of our driveway block paving was removed to gain access to water pipe leak which was remediated successfully. They both covered driveway hole as best as can but this meant we needed external contractors to repair driveway as this was not in their expertise. Given as the leak was fixed in a matter of hours and their politeness and ethics, we can definitely recommend them. Thank you both Mariano and Berta

Every confidence in ADI Leak Detection
My elderly mum had been forced into bringing in a leak detection company to find a leak that we did not think existed, which Anglian Water had repeatedly notified her about, following installation of a new 'smart' water meter which we had suspected was the cause of the high usage readings. Scott from ADI Leak Detection arrived at my mother's home on time and set about his various tests before quickly discovering that the water meter could not be isolated and suspected a faulty meter. A water company engineer was urgently requested to meet Scott at the location whereby he found the meter to be faulty. Scott was polite, efficient, maintained good communication with us and I had every confidence in ADI to detect and ultimately, if it had been required, to fix the leak. Scott's reporting was both detailed and clear. I should also give a mention to Dave in the office whose initial sympathetic and friendly approach provided me with the confidence to use their service in the first place. I would certainly recommend ADI Leak Detection.

Very, very pleased. The service by ADI second to none. From the initial contact to detecting and fixing the leak, Grant and Scott were very professional, friendly and went through the whole process, assuring us that we would have a successful conclusion. I highly recommend ADI if you need to someone to find and fix an issue with leaks. Many thanks.
Scott came to leak detection after two decades working in plumbing and heating, which gives him a solid grounding in how domestic and commercial water systems are built and where they tend to fail. He covers a wide stretch of the East and East Midlands, from Lincolnshire and Norfolk down to Essex and Hertfordshire. Away from the job, Scott is the lead singer in a band — so he is no stranger to working in front of an audience under a bit of pressure.
Frequently asked questions about Scott
What does Scott specialise in?
Scott specialises in central heating leak detection and water mains leak detection, alongside underfloor heating, bathroom leaks, drain leak investigation, and underground pipework. His two decades in plumbing and heating give him practical knowledge of how these systems behave when something goes wrong, which informs how he approaches each investigation.
How does Scott detect hidden leaks?
Scott uses acoustic listening equipment to detect the sound signature of escaping water through floors, walls, and buried ground. Thermal imaging cameras identify heat or cold patterns that point to water movement behind surfaces, and tracer gas is introduced into pipework to trace faults in sections that are concealed or underground. Borescope cameras allow visual inspection inside cavities without cutting access panels, and moisture meters confirm damp levels where visible signs are limited.
What experience and qualifications does Scott have?
Scott has 20 years in plumbing and heating and 2 years in leak detection. He is Gas Safe Registered, holds Accredited Certification Scheme registration, and is qualified in both air source heat pump installation and oil boiler servicing — a range that reflects how varied the heating systems he works on can be.
What types of properties does Scott work on?
Scott works on residential properties across the East Midlands and East of England, handling everything from straightforward bathroom leaks to more involved investigations on buried water mains or pressurised central heating systems. His plumbing and heating background means he is comfortable on properties where the pipework layout is complicated or the system has been extended over time.
When should you call Scott for leak detection?
If your water bill has risen without explanation, you have damp patches appearing on floors or walls, or your central heating pressure keeps dropping, those are signs worth investigating before the damage spreads further. Call ADI Leak Detection on 0800 731 3843 to book an investigation — ADI will aim to assign Scott where he is available in his coverage area.
How Scott finds your leak
Scott follows a consistent five-stage process on every visit. The approach is non-invasive and designed to isolate the fault before any disruption to your property.
Initial assessment. Review symptoms with the customer, check visible evidence, and identify the most likely system involved.
Selection of the right detection method. Pick the combination of thermal imaging, tracer gas, acoustic listening, or moisture mapping most likely to isolate the fault.
Non-invasive testing. Run the chosen method across the candidate area — no excavation or destructive investigation until the leak is confirmed.
Leak confirmation. Cross-verify the finding with a second method where possible, mark the exact location, and document the evidence.
Reporting and next steps. Provide a written report, photographs, and recommended repair options.
