Grant turned up early and explained what he’ll be doing and the processes involved. He was extremely polite and professional. Anglian water had visited briefly and said the leak was on the property and was not their responsibility to fix. Grant located the leak and it was close to the recently installed water meter and on the pavement so Anglian water’s problem. We received the video and report the following morning. All in all an excellent service.

Professional and trustworthy company
We called ADI following notification from our water authority that we had a substantial water leak on our property. From the first call which was dealt with by a friendly receptionist who gave us all the information we needed...costs, procedure used to detect leak and the timescales, to the engineer Grant who arrived punctually and quickly got to work to find where the leak was. Despite it potentially being a 2 person job due to distance from.the water metre, he set to work and rectified the leak within the morning. So happy water authority and customer. The following day a detailed report came through of findings and work done so that we can submit a claim to out home insurance should we wish to. Totally trustworthy and knowledgeable we recommend Grant and ADI for any water leak issues, and would use again if needed.

Leak detection eastbourne.
Grant from Adi arrived early found the leak within a hour he was brilliant.
Grant spent 20 years diagnosing and repairing faults across domestic and commercial plumbing and heating systems before joining ADI as a leak detection specialist. That background means he understands how systems are built and where they tend to fail — useful when a leak is hidden and the source is not obvious. He covers a broad patch across London and the South East, and is known for being straightforward with customers about what he has found and what needs to happen next. Away from work, Grant is a West Ham supporter and a regular at the gym.
Grant uses thermal imaging cameras to detect heat anomalies that indicate water escaping behind walls or under floors, avoiding unnecessary damage to the structure. Tracer gas is injected into pipework and a surface detector pinpoints where gas escapes, identifying the exact leak location on buried or concealed pipes. Acoustic listening equipment amplifies the sound of escaping water, and borescope cameras allow visual inspection inside drains and confined voids.
What experience and qualifications does Grant have?
Grant has 20 years in plumbing and heating, 6 years in leak detection, and 7 years in water mains replacement. He holds an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating and is a Thames Water Approved Plumber. That combination of trade experience and formal qualification underpins his ability to investigate a wide range of leak types accurately.
What types of properties does Grant work on?
Grant works on both domestic and commercial properties, covering everything from leaks within residential central heating and underfloor heating systems to faults on commercial water mains. He handles straightforward internal leaks as well as more complex investigations involving buried supply pipes or underground drainage. His background in water mains replacement means he is well equipped for jobs that go beyond detection and into remedial work.
When should you call Grant for leak detection?
If you notice unexplained damp patches, a rising water bill, loss of pressure in a heating system, or warm spots on a floor above underfloor heating pipework, a leak investigation is warranted. These symptoms often indicate a hidden leak that will worsen without intervention. Call ADI Leak Detection on 0800 731 3843 to book an investigation — ADI will aim to assign Grant where he is available in your area.
How Grant finds your leak
Grant follows a consistent five-stage process on every visit. The approach is non-invasive and designed to isolate the fault before any disruption to your property.
Initial assessment. Review symptoms with the customer, check visible evidence, and identify the most likely system involved.
Selection of the right detection method. Pick the combination of thermal imaging, tracer gas, acoustic listening, or moisture mapping most likely to isolate the fault.
Non-invasive testing. Run the chosen method across the candidate area — no excavation or destructive investigation until the leak is confirmed.
Leak confirmation. Cross-verify the finding with a second method where possible, mark the exact location, and document the evidence.
Reporting and next steps. Provide a written report, photographs, and recommended repair options.
