    About Moxley

Moxley is a suburb of Darlaston in Walsall’s Metropolitan Borough. Today, Moxley is known for its remarkable places like:

Moorcroft Wood Local Nature Reserve. This is a moderately sized reserve that is open to the public. It covers 27-acres of land and is known for its abandoned industrial landscapes. The landscape is very important when it comes to the overall industrial heritage of Black Country.

It was formerly called Moorcroft Old Colliery, where the sunken areas of some parts of the woodland are believed to be the collapsed locations of mine shafts. There are also underlying rocks that are part of the coal measures. Today, it has become an important wildlife site for bats, insects, and other amphibians.

Moorcroft Wood Primary School. This local primary school started in September 2005 because of the amalgamation of the Moxley Infant School and Dorothy Purcell Junior School. The school became split between two sites for more than a year until the Moxley Road site was closed. The school always aims to follow their pupils’ work and activities through their website’s gallery and pages. It’s an established school for children of Moxley.
Moxley Park. This is a 5.8-acre lot that is used by schools, youth organizations, and recreation departments. This is a home to Watertown Middle School’s athletic program. They have a baseball field, batting cage, basketball court, Coliseum, Soccer, Football field, and even a playing area for kids from ages 5-12 years old. It’s truly a nice park with lots of activities to do.

Moxley Methodist Church. This Church is located on High Street, Moxley. The Church is a Christian congregation that serves the community of Wednesbury. They are encouraging the people to change their lives and always seek for Christian journey. The Church wants to serve God by always working for peace and justice. They also want to learn and respect all the great faith desires and traditions that the people should have.
