Moorcroft Wood Local Nature Reserve. This is a moderately sized reserve that is open to the public. It covers 27-acres of land and is known for its abandoned industrial landscapes. The landscape is very important when it comes to the overall industrial heritage of Black Country.
It was formerly called Moorcroft Old Colliery, where the sunken areas of some parts of the woodland are believed to be the collapsed locations of mine shafts. There are also underlying rocks that are part of the coal measures. Today, it has become an important wildlife site for bats, insects, and other amphibians.
Moorcroft Wood Primary School. This local primary school started in September 2005 because of the amalgamation of the Moxley Infant School and Dorothy Purcell Junior School. The school became split between two sites for more than a year until the Moxley Road site was closed. The school always aims to follow their pupils’ work and activities through their website’s gallery and pages. It’s an established school for children of Moxley.
Moxley Methodist Church. This Church is located on High Street, Moxley. The Church is a Christian congregation that serves the community of Wednesbury.
