When we think about it we’re amazed at how far natural gas leak detection has come in the last 20 years or so. The concept of what we do here at ADI Leak Detection remains the exact same but how we actually go about finding leaks has changed quite a bit. What was once a very labor intensive process has been changed by the emergence of some pretty advanced technology that allows us to find more central heating leaks more efficiently than we had before. At ADI we’re big believers in progress and we’re always look at ways to improve what we do and how we do it because the person who benefits most from our constant improvements is you, our customer.
So when thermal imaging technology first became available outside of the armed forces and affordable enough for ADI leak detection specialist to invest in we got our hands on some thermal imaging cameras. If you’re not familiar with them they’re based on the same type of technology that you’ll find on targeting systems in use by the military – they show up hot and cold spots on the ground. For our engineers it means that we can see thermal changes in your walls, floors and ceilings that simply aren’t visible to the naked eye. In short it allows us to spot problems that are hidden away and may not become obvious for weeks or months to come. These are the same problems that other leak detection companies constantly miss out on because they don’t have the equipment they need to find these hidden cold and damp spots hidden behind paint and plaster.
It costs a lot to invest in this level of technology but we know that the benefits to our customers far, far outweigh the cost of buying this equipment plus we also know how far this technology puts us ahead of our competitors so we really don’t mind the investment when it comes down to it.
