    About Pickering

Pickering is a growing town with lots of active locals. It is a vibrant community because of the town's history with excellent retail businesses that offer everything. So whenever you're in town, here are the places to visit:

North Yorkshire Moors Railway. This is one of the world's greatest heritage railways as it thrills and has fun family experiences. The railway has been in the works since 1831, and it opened in 1836 and is known to many as Whitby and Pickering Railway. In 2007, the railway began to operate its services. And in 2014, the second platform opened, and today, the preserved line became a tourist attraction and received many awards. This is the most popular heritage railway in the UK.

Beck Isle Museum. This museum was intended to be the first Agricultural College in England. However, it did not push through because of some reason. Instead, it became a fine historic building and the hidden gem of Pickering.
The museum has 27 areas of displays, which covers the aspects of social and local history. In addition, there are a lot of displays in the recreated period throughout the building. Aside from displays, there are also activity rooms that let visitors play games, especially for children.

Pickering Castle. The castle is located in the attractive Moors-edge town of Pickering. It's been a splendid castle since the 13th century and one of the tourist attractions of the North York Moors National Park. The castle also became a royal hunting lodge and a holiday destination for medieval kings. Today, the Pickering Castle gives spectacular views from the top, which features unique wildlife and a wildflower meadow.

Cropton Brewery. This is one of the nicest clubs in the town of Cropton. They serve lovely beers as they have this brewery tour. Anyone can try out the beers while being accompanied by an informative guide.
