    About Wivenhoe

    Located in the Northeastern part of Essex, the civil parish and small town of Wivenhoe played a major role in the port industry in Essex. They made the trade industry a pivotal part of their success in their economy.

    Wivenhoe Park. Set in a 200-acre incredible piece of grassland and trees, the Wivenhoe Park is one of Essex's best and cleanest parks. There are various wildlife inhabitants in the area as well as their mini pond is home to some fish—lovely and pleasant walks and a very refreshing atmosphere.

    Rose and Crown. The Rose and Crown have some unique vibe to it as its mix of old and modern style designs attract customers from everywhere, and their impressive menu is more than enough to satisfy anyone’s cravings. It is situated just along the river Colne, and you can also witness a bunch of boats and yachts moored around the corner.
    Wivenhoe Sailing Club. If you want to explore the ins and outs of Sailing, the Wivenhoe Sailing Club is a good club to join in town, even for a brief moment. Their members are very friendly and accommodating and will walk you through the basics. Sailing is much easier when they teach you.

    Wivenhoe Woods Colne Local Nature Reserve. Situated on the northern side of River Colne, the Wivenhoe Woods Colne Local Nature Reserve is an 85-acre reserve containing some of the most pristine and untouched forest and grassland in Essex. Their bluebell plants can stretch for a hundred meters, and the greenery is quite overwhelming—a majestic yet peaceful place to be around.

    The Orange Tree Tapas Restaurant and Cocktail Bar. This Restobar is one of the best local pubs in town as it serves some of the best steaks in town and their cocktail menu. Their wine selection can even rival some of the best in Essex.
