    About Yarm

    Yarm was one of the most significant ports on the River Tees during medieval times. It became home to rope makers, shipbuilders, tanners, and clockmakers. Though the market no longer exists, there is still an annual fair that remains a big draw every October.

    Yarm Castle. A local builder built this castle in the 1880s. The castle has to be seen because it’s not only historical, but it also looks stunning.     Yarm Train Station. This is a railway station located on the Northallerton-Eaglescliffe Line. It connects the Tees Valley Line and the East Coast Main Line. It was originally opened on ay 1852 by the Leeds Northern Railway. Today, it’s an open station, and the train is often packed at peak times, so it is advisable to book a seat ahead of time.
