                        About Dersingham

                        Dersingham is a large and thriving village located in the attractive countryside of West Norfolk. It is situated some 12 kilometers north of the town of King’s Lynn and 70km north-west of the city of Norwich. It covers some 1,500 hectares and at its highest point, is some 50 metres above sea level. Sandringham Estate, the Royal’s family’s favoured holiday home, lies just to the south of Dersingham. The village’s name means “Homestead/ village of Deorsige’s people”. The village offers a number of interesting places to visit as well as shops, pubs, restaurants, schools, and other amenities that make Dersingham an ideal location for homebuyers and holidaymakers.

                        Dersingham Bog National Nature Reserve

                        Dersingham Bog National Nature Reserve is a nature preserve and walking area known for its picturesque scenery and wildlife sightings. It forms part of what was once a vast heathland that stretched the entire length of the Greensand Escarpment from Kings Lynn to Heacham. It is now one of the largest remaining area of lowland heathland left in Britain. The Dersingham Bog is managed by Natural England.

The family friendly hotel and pub is set in a 19th century sandstone-and-redbrick building that was formerly a coaching inn.
