About Anstey

Anstey is a large village in Leicestershire. It is located in the northwest part of Leicester, just in the area of Charnwood. It is known as the Gateway to the Charnwood Forest and is also an industrial town. Here are the best places to visit in Anstey.

  • Leicestershire City Football Club. This stadium is also known to many as the Foxes. It’s a top-flight English football club, that’s why it was crowned as the Premier League Champions. The club competes in the Premier League, which is the top division of the football league system of England. It was founded in 1884, and it’s still one of the most powerful stadiums today.

  • Leicester Lions Speedway. The Lions are the famous speedway team that race for Championship against ten clubs around the UK. This speedway team started from 1968 to 1983. The club returned to speedway in 2011 Premier League until it moved up to the Elite League in 2014. The venue is nice, and visitors are so passionate to see supporters who cheer for the team.
  • The Mash and Press. This drinking establishment is a hidden little gem in the town of Anstey. They serve fantastic ciders and ales, and the place comes with a garden where anyone can gather and have fun.

They brew it downstairs and sell it to customers upstairs, which is kind of unique. Their great quality beers and some unique tropical ales make people want to come back.

  • Bradgate Park. The Bradgate was first known to be a deer park in the 12th century. The Park is chosen as a Site of Special Scientific Interest for the wildlife habitat’s importance. The Park also comes with Precambrian rocks that are about 600 million years old. The house was built around the year 1500 and was known to be one of the first brick-built country houses in the country.
