    About Westhoughton

One of the most magnificent pieces in Westhoughton is the Snydle Water Tower. This was established by the Westhoughton council back in 1914. However, it has remained in a dilapidated state for some decades. In many years, you could only see the tower open to the sky and the tank removed. But it has received a touch of restoration, and it is now utilized as a private residential structure. You can view it from the m16 motorway. Also, there is the school of the Church of England which was built in the year 1861. It is located opposite the St Bartholomew church. The institution was initially called the Westhoughton Parochial School. However, it was later renamed. At the moment, the institution is called St Bartholomew’s Church of England primary school. In Westhoughton, we have the Carnegie library red brick and terracotta town hall, which were established in 1904 and 102. The constructors of these two ancient buildings used the Bradshaw& Gass architectural designs. There is also the parish church of Saint Bartholomew in this town, among other churches. Also, the town has modern restaurants and hotels, bars, and shops; there are also big retailers and brands operating in this town.
